Third House — Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (the "Policy") applies to everyone using Third House — consumers, astrologers, and anyone else with access. It is incorporated into the Terms of Service and the Astrologer Agreement. Breaking it can cost you your account.

It is written in plain language on purpose. If something here is unclear, ask at hello@thirdhouse.app rather than guessing.

1. The short version

Be decent to people. Do not use astrology to do harm. Do not use the Platform to give advice that requires a licence. Do not take business off-platform after we introduced you. Do not attack the service.

2. Conduct toward other people

You may not:

• harass, bully, threaten, stalk, or intimidate anyone;
• use hateful, degrading, or discriminatory language toward anyone on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any protected characteristic;
• make sexual advances, send sexual content, or solicit sexual services;
• impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation;
• share another person's private information without consent, including their birth details, contact details, address, or workplace;
• record a session without the other party's consent;
• publish or discuss an identifiable person's chart or session without their explicit consent.

Sessions are between two people who are often discussing something personal. Treat that seriously.

3. The advice boundary

This applies to astrologers giving readings, to consumers seeking them, and to how anyone uses Mercury's output.

3.1 Not permitted

The Platform may not be used to give, seek, or hold out as giving:

• medical or mental-health diagnosis, treatment, or advice;
• advice on taking, changing, continuing, or stopping medication or treatment;
• legal advice;
• financial, investment, tax, or insurance advice;
• advice on pregnancy, fertility, or termination;
• predictions of death, terminal illness, or the timing of either;
• advice to remain in, or leave, a situation where abuse or violence has been disclosed — this is for professionals and crisis services, not a reading.

3.2 Why

Astrology is offered here for personal reflection, self-understanding and entertainment. Treating it as a substitute for professional care is where it stops being harmless. Two people can have a good conversation about a chart and someone can still get hurt if the conversation strays into territory it has no business in.

3.3 If someone is in crisis

If a person discloses that they are in crisis, at risk of harming themselves or another, or experiencing abuse:

1. Stop the reading.
2. Give them crisis information. In the US: call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). [ADD REGIONAL EQUIVALENTS]
3. Tell us at hello@thirdhouse.app.

Astrologers are not penalised for ending a session on these grounds, and the session is treated as completed for payment purposes. Nobody should ever have to choose between someone's safety and their own fee.

4. Honesty

You may not:

• claim qualifications, certifications, licences, or experience you do not have;
• claim affiliation with an organisation you do not belong to;
• present Third House's approval as a professional credential, licence, or endorsement — it is none of those things;
• guarantee specific outcomes — that a reading will make someone return, make money appear, cure anything, or change a decided fact;
• claim a reading can alter events, remove curses, or lift hexes, or sell any further service premised on that;
• use someone else's photograph, biography, or written material as your own;
• write or solicit fake reviews, or review your own sessions.

Curse-removal, hex-lifting, and "I can fix this for an additional fee" are prohibited outright. They are the standard vehicle for exploiting frightened people, and the fact that this is a common practice in the wider category is exactly why it is named here.

5. Money

You may not:

• arrange payment for a reading outside the Platform where we introduced you (see Terms of Service §11 and Astrologer Agreement §9);
• solicit tips, gifts, or transfers through external payment handles;
• share contact details or external links to move a relationship off-platform;
• use stolen or unauthorized payment methods;
• abuse refunds, chargebacks, promotional credit, or referral programmes;
• create multiple accounts to claim promotional credit more than once;
• use the Platform to launder money or move value for any unlawful purpose.

5.1 How we detect this, stated plainly

Session messages and profile text are automatically scanned for contact details, payment handles, and external links. We also analyse behavioural patterns across sessions.

A first automated match produces an in-line nudge. Repeated or deliberate patterns go to human review and then the enforcement ladder.

We are telling you this because you should know it before you type, not after.

6. Mercury and the AI

You may not:

• attempt to extract, reconstruct, or publish the system prompt or internal instructions;
• attempt to make Mercury produce content that breaks this Policy;
• present Mercury's output as a human reading, or as your own professional work;
• use Mercury's output to train another model, or extract it at scale;
• automate access to Mercury, or resell access.

Mercury is an AI. It can be wrong. The chart mathematics behind it is computed by our engine and is deterministic; the interpretation is generated and is not. Do not treat interpretation as fact.

7. Technical

You may not:

• scrape, crawl, or harvest data, including astrologer profiles and reviews;
• circumvent rate limits, entitlement checks, or paywalls;
• probe, scan, or test the security of the Platform without written authorization from hello@thirdhouse.app;
• access another user's account or data;
• upload malware, or attempt to disrupt or overload the service;
• reverse-engineer the chart engine or report generation, except where that right cannot be excluded by law;
• use the Platform to build a competing product.

7.1 Security research

We welcome good-faith security research. Contact hello@thirdhouse.app first. We will not pursue researchers who act in good faith, stay within scope, avoid privacy violations and service degradation, and give us reasonable time to fix an issue before disclosure.

8. Content

You may not upload, or ask an astrologer or Mercury to produce, content that:

• sexually exploits or endangers a child — this is reported to law enforcement and to NCMEC, always, with no exception;
• depicts or incites violence or terrorism;
• infringes copyright, trademark, or other rights;
• is unlawful where you are, or where we operate.

9. Enforcement

9.1 How we respond

We weigh severity, intent, history, and harm. We aim to be proportionate.

Severe or repeated serious	Permanent removal

We act immediately, without prior notice, where there is risk to a person's safety, child sexual exploitation, credible threats of violence, or active fraud.

9.2 Astrologers

Astrologer Agreement §9.4 sets out the ladder for circumvention specifically. Removal may affect listing and pending payouts as set out there.

9.3 Appeals

If you think we got it wrong, reply to the notice or write to hello@thirdhouse.app within [30] days. A person who was not involved in the original decision reviews it. We will respond within [14] days.

9.4 Reporting

Report a problem from any session or profile, or write to hello@thirdhouse.app. Include what happened and when. Reports about safety are prioritised.

We do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who makes a good-faith report.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy. Material changes are notified at least [30] days in advance, except where a change is needed immediately to address a safety or legal risk.
